""Fe2O3 -The Köln Carpet"" are three carpets woven from acoustic tape. ¼-inch tape is combined thrue regular up and down, which then can be played back by the visitors. For this they have to grasp a tapehead, move it over the fabric and listen. Speed, direction and angle of the tapehead sets sound, pitch and volume. The three signals of the carpets will and should mix together, so you will always get new and unexpected sounds. The carpets are named after their compositions, which are made from material of the city and recorded on the tape before weaving. The compositions made of the recordings are not shown visually.
