INTO THE WILD -
Mentoring - programm

The KHM and its equality officers are delighted to support the successful INTO THE WILD mentoring program every year.

“What most hero's journeys are missing is the heroine.”

INTO THE WILD is a mentoring program for female filmmakers of all trades who want to realize a film idea - whether it's a feature-length fiction, documentary, animated film or a series concept. We are looking for material that represents a new, powerful and female point of view, with a focus on stories that can appeal to a broad audience. The participants are supported for a year by successful female mentors with experience in the industry.

The program aims to actively promote equal opportunities for female filmmakers in the film and television industry.

INTO THE WILD is financed by the participating film schools - the Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, the ifs internationale filmschule köln, the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln (KHM), the Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München (HFF), the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (dffb) and the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg - and is supported by the Kuratorium junger deutscher Film, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Filmförderungsanstalt, Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, Hamburg Media School, MO/N Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, FFF-Bayern, Bavaria Film GmbH, studio zentral, SHPG Studio Hamburg Production Group, MADEFOR, Warner Bros. INTO THE WILD Workshops

Women in the film business are forming a strong network to change the system. If more stories are told by multifaceted women, the image of women will also change, because stereotypes are transported through the media.
