CubeBrowser is a six-sided image display cube that can be used to browse online databases such as Flickr.com. Navigation is achieved exclusively through the manipulation of the object: a playful way to explore tagged photo collections. Until the dawn of the digital image, the enjoyment of photographs was based on analogue objects that were usually cluttered all over the floor: tangible as well as easy to show to one another and share. The aim of this project is to bring back this simplicity and combine it with the benefits of digital technology. It runs independently of the desktop and is not bound to a screen controlled by mouse, keyboard or remote control, allowing for more intuitive interaction and greater accessibility to people of all ages and abilities.
