As a sanctuary of warmth, “Mount and Surround” marks the day we reached a global advantage over cold climate warfare. The primary quality of thermal insulation is the ability to protect a space from unwanted temperature. Besides spaces or containers, insulation can also be defined in relation to its content, such as warm layers of cloth in relation to a child’s body. It is a shield facing “General winter''; a form of defense within psychological and physical interaction with nature; offering a form of refuge from the uncertainty in the state of ecological emergency.
