Friday night is when the long-awaited weekend starts. The expectations are high, but by far not every wish comes true. The way from the country to a hip-hop concert in Cologne turns into an odyssey for Frank and David: their friendship is put to the test. Marek’s eight-year-old son visits him for the weekend. Yet despite an action-packed evening programme the two of them don’t seem to be able to come any closer. It could’ve been the best evening ever for Mike... if his grandma hadn’t accidentally swallowed the Ecstasy pills! The kidnapper of the bride, Benno, has chosen an equally bad moment to confess his love to the newlywed. Teror roams through the night in search of a beautiful strange lady, but is „found“ by Susanne, who is incredibly drunk and he just can’t seem to get rid of. For Nina it also seems that the way to the party is in fact the goal: she gets on very well with taxi driver Kamran... but the encounter ends differently than she expected. „Friday Night“ – six loosely connected episodes about night life in Cologne – was written and directed by six students studying to be directors from the Academy of Media Arts Cologne under the watchful eye of Wolfgang Becker.
