Information technology (IT)
The KHM has a highly modern, heterogeneous
communication network, which connects all of the buildings of the KHM with fibre
optic cable. Based on this network, all of the workstations, offices and laboratories
of the KHM are connected with one another and provides ca. 100 staff from art, research,
teaching and admin as well as ca. 350 students with a contemporary IT
infrastructure.
The Academy of Media Arts Cologne offers efficient
and comprehensive Wireless LAN, which provides wireless access to the data net
and the Internet. The WLAN stretches across the buildings on Filzengraben,
Peter-Welter-Platz, Große Witschgasse, as well as Overstolzenhaus.
A media net is part of the KHM’s network
structure, enabling high-performance exchange of audio and video data.

Mediensystemtechnik
Die Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln betreibt professionelle Fernseh- und Filmstudios, Tonstudios und Arbeitsräume für Schnitt, Compositing und Colour-Grading. Die Medien-Systemtechnik befasst sich mit der Planung der entsprechenden Anlagen und ist zuständig für deren sicheren Betrieb. Darüber hinaus unterstützt und begleitet sie Projekte und Produktionen der KHM bei der technischen Umsetzung im Bereich Audio- und Videotechnik.
