The public conversation with multidisciplinary artist-activist Sujatro Ghosh will focus on his community-based practices, which he often refers to as acts of solidarity. He will discuss the tapestry of community practices that he often uses to bring people together through public workshops (fermentation and pickling), dinners, community cooking sessions, and more. These community practices transcend individual differences, often becoming fertile ground for solidarity.

Sujatro Ghosh was born in Kolkata, India. His practice attempts to initiate a conversation about social action and political protest which produces the conditions for othered voices to be heard. His works combine conceptual and material adventures produced by radical thought primarily around queer rights, diasporic tensions, women’s rights, climate justice, gastro-politics, and transnational migration. Sujatro works with film, performance, poetry, fabric works, and photography. His current work deals with the relationship between food, memory, violence, and justice.
