Digital Services
The library offers access to numerous digital services such as e-books, e-journals, specialist databases, streaming, press, and language courses. Some services are only available from the campus network; many can also be used off-campus after registering via Shibboleth. Some services require personal registration with a KHM email address or activation by library staff. The specific usage options are displayed when you click on the respective service. Guests without a KHM account do not have access to the library's digital offerings that require registration.
E-Books
We offer digital books primarily in PDF format as e-books. Some are also available in HTML or ePub formats. You don't need an e-book reader to use them. A computer (desktop PC, notebook, tablet, or smartphone) with a browser, internet access, and a PDF reader is sufficient.
E-books can be read online. Unfortunately, the download and printing options are not uniformly regulated, as we hold e-books from numerous different providers. Each provider or publisher uses different formats and licensing conditions. As a library, we have little or no influence over this. You can usually save and print parts of the e-book, and with some providers, even entire works. E-books can be accessed via catalog searches or directly via the providers' platforms.
