TOBIAS YVES ZINTEL was born in Passau in 1975. He studied concept art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Joseph Kosuth. His filmic work integrates various genres with performance, documentation, installation, music and theatre. In an idiosyncratic visual language he creates films that introduce us to grotesque scenarios, mysterious actions and melancholy universes.

His filmic work has been shown around the world, at Glasgow International (UK), Video Roam@Honor Fraser (USA), Doris MacCarthy Gallery (CA), RIPBM@Palais de Tokyo (F), Barbara Gross Gallery Munich (G), Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus (G), Videonale 14 &15, Kunstmuseum Bonn (2013/15) among others.

Zintel regularly works in theatre, including at the Münchner Kammerspielen (Doing Identity Festival, Bunny Hill I und II, Hauptschule der Freiheit), at Theater Basel, Theater Neumarkt Zürich and Hebbel am Ufer Berlin.
