Simoné is a writer, translator and interdisciplinary artist who organises literature and media festivals and events. They are interested in queer online fandoms, (post migrant) horror narratives, language in video games and linguistic experimentation. In her artistic practice, Simoné focuses on stories and voices that are traditionally ignored by mainstream society, hoping to give them a platform.
Simoné writes in different genres and forms. She recently created Love & Literature Hamburg in 2025, a project which aims to foster dialogue between (German) contemporary literature and sci-fi, fantasy, horror, romance and crime fiction. The first edition of the festival Beyond Borders: Love & Literaturetook place in August of 2026. Simoné is currently developing different multimedia and gaming formats with different art and gaming collectives.
Simoné has been writing fiction in German and English since 2018. They were part of the editorial team for BELLA triste, a German literary magazine, from March 2019 until September 2021, and part of the organizing committee for PROSANOVA 2020, a festival for contemporary German literature, and organised the online festival Futur 3.0 as part of the streaming release of the film No hard feelings / FUTUR DREI by JÜNGLINGE Film. Together with Aidan Riebensahm and Arpana Aischa Berndt, she initiated BREAK ROOM, a writing for young marginalised writers. Since 2022, Simoné have been involved in different theatre and performance projects as well as in film projects. They are the co-editor of Process*in Magazine, a magazine for the process of writing, and co-host WE LIKE IT DARKER, a podcast on horror and dark literature together with the author Brian Frank.
Excerpts from Simoné’s first novel, Messer, Zungen (2022), were nominated for the 28th Open Mike and shortlisted for the FM4 Wortlaut Prize 2021. Their novella Days you’ll find me (in a place I like to go) (2024) received the Hamburg Literature Prize in the category “Book of the Year”. Their non-fiction book Nerd Girl Magic, which is an in-depth look at nerd and geek culture from marginalised perspectives, was nominated for the Kurd Laßwitz Science Fiction Prize in 2026. Simoné has received a number of scholarships for her writing and interdisciplinary work, including the Schloss Solitude Scholarship (2023/24) and the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen fellowship (2025). She was a writer-in-residence at the Goethe institute in Helsinki 2025.
