The 'Wackelkontakt' as disruption during the interaction between two things: something that is meant to flow comes to a standstill, producing unpleasant signal tones in the process. The tiniest, almost insignificant 'flickers' can either throw an entire system into disarray or, conversely, set it in motion.
Building on this technical metaphor, the group exhibition WACKELKONTAKTE develops an artistic and social testing ground in which processes of connecting, interrupting and re-establishing relationships are made audible through the individual positions of the exhibiting artists. Cold solder joints are heated to unleash sound and noise and to explore new points of contact. The term 'contact' refers not only to acoustic or electronic connections, but also to interpersonal and socio-political dimensions: to failed communication, fragile affiliations and the search for resonance in an increasingly fragmented present
