
Markéta Polednová is a film producer and Assistant Professor in the field of feature film production at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM).
She studied Film Production at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, focusing on International and Creative Producing, and graduated in 2005 with the diploma film ALLES IN ORDNUNG (directed by Mark Rensing), which received several awards.
From 2000 to 2005, she worked at the Filmbüro Baden-Württemberg, contributing to FILMFACTS, the Filmschau Baden-Württemberg and FMX Stuttgart. From 2005 to 2007, she was a Junior Producer at Colonia Media Filmproduktions GmbH in Cologne, where she worked on various feature and television productions, including ERLKÖNIG (dir. Urs Egger), DAS ZWEITE LEBEN (dir. Florian Gärtner), AN DIE GRENZE (dir. Urs Egger), WUT (dir. Züli Aladag) and DER FREIE WILLE (dir. Matthias Glasner).
Between 2007 and 2008, she worked as a Commissioning Editor at WDR mediagroup, contributing to projects such as the documentary DIE BESTEN FRAUEN DER WELT (dir. Britta Becker). In 2007, she founded Film Boutique GbR in Cologne, supported by the AV-Gründerzentrum NRW, where she produced several award-winning films, including WORST CASE SCENARIO (dir. Franz Müller), HAPPY HOUR (dir. Franz Müller) and UNITED INTEREST (dir. Tim Weimann). She is currently producing the documentary MAR MUSA (dir. Shahab Kermani, 2025).
Her professional development includes participation in the Screenwriting Workshop Munich (2009), qualification as a Green Consultant at the Stuttgart Media University (2021), and a course in AI at the ifs Cologne (2025).
