As a contribution to the 35th anniversary of the KHM, the soundings series invites graduates from the time of professors Anthony Moore and Peter Kiefer and from the period since 2015 to participate in the winter semester 25/26. Sound was part of the KHM's curriculum from very early on. So it is not surprising that a whole series of renowned artists have emerged from it in the meantime.
Since 1999 she is known for her unique minimalistic and organic approach towards music. From a delicate tiny hiss to a distant hum, electronic sounds and field recordings are woven into music with a narrative tension. Her 8th solo album “As If” is released in 2024 from the label Hallow Ground. She collaborated with Klaus Dinger, Rolf Julius and Carl Stone and Asmus Tietchens.
Her music consists of samples, noises, field recordings, and electronic sounds from solar synthesizers, whose different elements are woven into a fragile, minimalist organic soundscape with abstract and narrative power. Her music plays with the listener's subtle perception, allowing spaces and images to unfold in the mind.
urbanrecall is a collaboration born from the idea of sensing the hidden pulse of the city. We are artists who want to understand the invisible currents and silent chaos that shape our lives and the walls around us. Our process is based on attentive listening and observation. We collect the whispers of the city, its hidden memories, and its raw sensory data. These fragments are then not only converted, but transformed into immersive, site-specific experiences. Each project is a dialogue, an attempt to uncover the subjective layers of our urban environment and reflect its nonlinear, dynamic, and vibrant essence.
The soundings series is conceived and curated by teachers specializing in sound art. These are Prof. Hans W. Koch, Prof. Tina Tonagel, and Dr. Tobias Hartmann.
