This ongoing project-based seminar will explore the possibilities and challenges of tools such as laser scanning, virtual reality, AR and 3D. We will focus on technologies such as 3D Animation (Autodesk Maya), geospatial imaging (Leica BLK360), 3D Games (Unity3D), VR Drawing (AnimVR) and 360 degree imaging (Insta360Pro 2). On philosophical and ethical problems concerning new technologies as well as storytelling in XR. The seminar consists of presentations, colloquia as well as hands-on teaching. Through ‘learning-by-doing’ you will be able to develop your XR works.
Furthermore, the seminar will be a platform to meet with curators, makers, festivals and related institutions from the field of artistic XR and you will have the opportunity to participate and collaborate on larger XR projects for festivals and exhibitions such as the established collaboration with http://www.futur21.nrw.
Please see also the seminar 'Animation Production from script to screen'. A video mapping project: NRW#FUTUR 21.
