»Maybe transfeminism is a placeholder for something that’s still to be thought.«
(McKenzie Wark)
Transantagonism, antifeminism, and antigenderism have become one of the main languages of the global far right. Moral panics and politics of fear surrounding trans_gender issues have fueled fascization processes and authoritarian drifts in many places. At the same time, antiracist travesti- and transfeminist practice counters fascization with a refusal to concede to cisheteronormativity, with mutual aid practices, and an insistence on physical self-determination. What are transfeminist answers to fascist threats? What does current transfeminist antifascist organizing look like?
Understanding transfeminism as an antifascist practice, we will read and analyze theories of fascization and transfeminist texts and manifestos that go beyond questions of representation or identity and stay suspicious of categorizations.
