Nachhaltigkeit in Medien- Kunst- und Filmproduktion

Das Seminar verknüpft theoretische, rechtliche und methodische Grundlagen nachhaltiger Film- und Medienproduktion mit künstlerischer und organisatorischer Praxis. Behandelt werden unter anderem ESG-Kriterien, Sustainable Financing sowie ökologische Standards als Fördervoraussetzungen der Bundes- und Länderfilmförderungen. Im Zentrum steht das Kreislaufdesign als Denk- und Arbeitsweise, abgeleitet aus der Konsistenzstrategie und der Kreislaufwirtschaft, angewendet auf Materialien, Produktionsprozesse und Formen der Zusammenarbeit. Diskutiert und erprobt werden nachhaltige Produktionsformen in den Bereichen Energie, Transport, Material und Entsorgung sowie deren Wechselwirkungen mit Film, Kunst, Architektur und anderen Kultursparten. Begleitend werden Instrumente des CO₂e-Footprintings für audiovisuelle Produktionen vorgestellt und in einen erweiterten kulturellen Kontext eingeordnet.

Zum Abschluss entwickeln die Teilnehmenden in einem gemeinsamen Brainstorming konkrete Ansätze für nachhaltige Praxis in Lehre, Projekten und Übungen an der KHM.

“Sustainable Media, Art, and Film Production” (AT)

This seminar combines theoretical, legal, and methodological foundations of sustainable film and media production with artistic and organizational practice. Topics include, among others, ESG criteria, sustainable financing, and ecological standards as funding requirements of federal and state film funding bodies in Germany. At its core, the seminar explores circular design as a way of thinking and working, derived from consistency strategies and the principles of the circular economy, and applied to materials, production processes, and modes of collaboration. Sustainable production practices are discussed and tested in the areas of energy, transportation, materials, and waste management, as well as their interrelations with film, art, architecture, and other cultural fields. In parallel, tools for CO₂e footprinting in audiovisual productions are introduced and contextualized within a broader cultural framework.

In the final phase, participants collaboratively develop concrete approaches for sustainable practice in teaching, projects, and exercises at the KHM.
