A collaborative seminar between different schools around the world that explores the rapid impact that technological development has on our perception and the gradual disappearance of details, objects, and relationships, portions of life that fade away. The outcome of the seminar is a collective film made by students from KHM_ Kunsthochshule der Medien, Köln, CAFA_the Central Academy of Fine Arts (Beijing), the Vilnius Academy of Arts (Vilnius), and Anant National University, Gujarat, India, Chung-Ang University, Seul, Korea.
Many authors, filmmakers, and painters have reflected on this theme. Proust, in In Search of Lost Time (1913), speaks of the view from a moving carriage and how, in this acceleration, the peasant woman disappears. “One must make an effort if one wants to keep seeing anything. Everything vanishes,” Cézanne writes to his son. What do we lose or gain in this continuous acceleration of the world?
