Project type: Diplom
We are lead through the Hansa area of Berlin, a neighbourhood built in 1957 as the ‘city of tomorrow,’ by various people, one handing over to the next much like in a relay race. Official state descriptions merge with the utopian visions of the architects who built it and accounts of the prospects for the future. Utopias, references to historical events, and stories of everyday life are played out against a backdrop of buildings by famous architects, to form a portrait of the neighbourhood and its inhabitants.
