A novel of the same title was given birth simultaneously to the 60 minutes long film 'Endland'. Film and novel were developed in correspondency. Both versions of the same story are likewise original. In a world where war and peace are forgotten for a long time, three heroes move through the country. Kasaa, a tradesman, who comes from a distant desert, flees from his own thoughts which are governed by violence and death. He hopes that if he simply does not think of murder, then nobody will ever be killed. Faust meets Kasaa in the wide wasteland. He's sitting on a scanty tree, a gas mask on his head, and explains that he protects the tree against ghosts, which dry out the environment. They become friends and so Faust needn’t think about travelling with him very long, when Kasaa says he has to change the place in which resides. Shortly before their departure, Luca joins the group. She seems to see the world playfully and takes life easy. Her hobby, collecting a heap of objects and binding them to her belt, allows to unlock her past. Kasaa anticipates something dark in her. Nevertheless, they let her travel with them, because Faust seems to like her. Three set out, in a scanty world to find a giant, dark monolith in whose shade there should be no more grief and no more sickness. Kasaa will have to face up to the things, which he had decided to flee from, and they will find out that their trip depends more on their own thoughts than on the scanty desolate world which surrounds them.
