The stairway is probably one of the most frequently played rhythm instruments. Most people are able to master at least the slow and barely virtuoso basic rhythms of this sound body. Thus anybody can play the instrument for this composition, although it should be rather difficult to have a live performance. A video projection allows the simultaneousness of the four staircases and the experience of a parallel picture and sound composition. The charm of this is based on the everyday occurence of its sources for rhythm and sound. The installation follows the differnt characteristics of the stairway as an instrument and the rhythm of walking. Hence it creates an audiovisual choreography which, in turn, ruined my favourite shoes.
