The aim of the Internet database “Becoming German” is to provide a digital source of information and assistance to those who did not experience a German childhood and would like to “become German” or for those who are simply looking for a different German childhood. Memories of growing up in Germany are added or “donated” to the database and are “received” by others, who appropriate them as their own. The database is a work in progress that is constantly changing and growing.
