""I can't stay here"" is a 17-minute long collage. Small scenic miniatures meet everyday observations. Places, spaces, figures, as well as the autobiographically colored pieces remain only hinted at, hazy, get briefly illuminated and disappear immediately into the darkness. The boundaries between inside and outside are blurred. The grainy, monochromatic Super8 images are held together by two voice-over narrators and an atmospheric soundtrack. That way ""I can't stay here"" illuminates the moment of a feeling or mental state shortly before the dissolution. ""When the light turns on, I start my search"" is the narrator's repeated mantra throughout the film.
