Interkosmos

It's ten minutes until Markus is launched into space. In his head he goes over and over the different protocols he must carry out once he gets on the ship. He looks calm and confident, despite the technical problems of the ship, announced by the loudspeaker. His peace of mind is interrupted by the arrival of Sigmund from maintenance, who must clean the waiting room to finish his shift and go home. Despite the difference in rank, Sigmund's curiosity makes the two of them engage in a conversation about how they got there, about their fears and fantasies. This conversation makes Markus doubt about his desire to go into space, going so far as to offer his place to Sigmund, the cleaning boy, with three minutes to go. Who will finally travel? Astronaut Markus accepting his responsibility? Or will it be Sigmund who will see his fantasy of being an astronaut fulfilled?
