A house stands empty in the Swiss Alps — the only inhabitant is dead. When the daughter and then the grandchildren come to sort out the old woman’s affairs, they all sense the presence of a secret companion. It would appear that alongside a taciturn hunter and an obtrusive chiropodist, a third, very different kind of being had found a place in her life: the Tuntschi vo Juf, the doll that springs to life in the mountain legend “Sennentuntschi.”
