Growing up with her non-verbal brother with a developmental disability, Jinhyun navigates an affection marked by shame, and a closeness shaped by distance. Her journey moves through institutions in Korea, Japan, Germany, and the UK, contouring a material geography of isolation. These sites carry histories of abuse, stabbings, and drownings—points where systems of separation reach their lethal limit. By following these locations, Jinhyun traces institutionalization back to its origins, through residential confinement that renders certain lives disposable. The camera never enters. It remains at the threshold, collecting the sensory residue of control. Trains stitch together fractured landscapes, arriving into night—where language thins and what remains is felt. A film for all that could not become words.
