Lesia Ukrainka’s correspondence with another pioneering feminist writer Olha Kobylianska lasted for 14 years, from 1899 to 1913. They, however, met only 3 times. After one of their meetings, they started referring to each other with coded and gender-neutral ""someone"", ""somebody"". In their letters, they drew lines to describe the movements of their hands, attempting to create closeness despite the distance.
