Realtime Showreel

Project type: 2. Projekt
The idea behind this project was to illustrate what Realtime 3D really means and what its use is. Since many people still have problems imagining what Realtime 3D is, this video was created in order to intelligibly show some fields of application of this technique. The video deals with applications which are presented and operated through a touch screen. The fact that one does not have to follow a pre-rendered, linear presentation and therefore can get lost in the presented content, is being solved by moving the 3D objects from the screen into the ""real"" room where the user stands face to face with it. The landing gear of an airplane, which used to be controllable on screen only at first, is now a real model the user can walk around and turn in every direction. The driving simulator opens up the possibility to dive into the virtually crafted city, thus is suddenly driving through the city, rather than simply sitting in front of a touch screen.
