How much influence do bugs have on our lives? is a poetic and artistic exploration of the uneasy symbiosis between humans and insects. Intertwining literature, digital technology and interactive art, Sohyun Lee's work blurs the lines between fear, obsession and coexistence. The journey begins with the 3D video , which transforms poetic language into a digital landscape, evolving into a virtual shelter shaped by personal encounters with silverfish. Words, once metaphors, are translated into tangible models through self-developed coding. Over time, the process shifts from a one-sided confrontation to mutual existence, culminating in an interactive object that signifies the artist’s evolving relationship with silverfish. Rooted in interdisciplinary research, questions whether digital space can become a site of exorcism and healing, borrowing from rituals of cleansing and transformation in Korean shamanism. Through poetry, digital media, and interactive sculpture, the exhibition invites viewers to reconsider the things we fear, the spaces we cohabit, and the memories we share.
