Pasajera Nocturna

Pasajera Nocturna is a project consisting of a book and a multimedia installation, based on an unpublished photographic archive compiled over more than a decade. The photographs—mostly taken with mobile phones and edited directly on the device—depict landscapes from places where the artist has lived, stayed, or passed through. Through overexposure, color modification, and digital alteration, the images undergo a transformation into abstract compositions, detached from their original references. This artistic practice accompanied her numerous relocations between Argentina and Germany—23 moves in total. The immediacy of the mobile phone allowed her to capture fleeting impressions spontaneously. Only years later did she realize that the radical abstraction was an unconscious attempt to detach herself emotionally from the photographed places—an anticipatory reflection of farewell. At the same time, the process revealed a desire to preserve the emotional essence of each place, conveying a personal experience beyond the photographic surface. The artist explores landscape as a subjective space shaped by memory, time, and emotional charge. This concept is materialized in the Pasajera Nocturna installation: an abstract, immersive environment composed of images, sculptures, drawings, sound, and movement, allowing the audience to experience migration and memory as dynamic and ever-changing processes.
