In her essayistic documentary, the filmmaker returns to the street where she was born and grew up in 1990, telling the story of friendships that were formed there but also lost over time. Across from her family home, Tannenstraße 10 served as accommodation for refugees from the early 1990s to the early 2000s. She weaves old, partly self-shot video footage, photographs, friendship books, and school notebooks with new encounters and conversations with the people from back then. The film creates a cinematic remembering that not only highlights contrasts but above all the connections between different lived realities. It offers a deeply personal perspective on migration in Germany while reflecting on the 1990s — a time that feels both distant and remarkably present today.
