“Magic Zipper” tells the story of a young Korean woman, Sue (27), and an Afro-German boy, Tim (12), who by chance meet—online. A combination of the odd results of a translation programme and Tim’s fake identity—he claims to be the 68-year-old Uwe—lead to bizarre situations. But thanks to their common sense of humour and sympathy towards each other, they become friends. In the end, the story of Tim’s childhood becomes the central strand in the narrative Sue has always dreamt of writing.
