Poland 1982. Anna is seven years old. Two years ago her father went to West Germany on holiday and didn’t come back. When her mother’s application to travel to West Germany is granted, family fronts harden. Anna is aware of her father’s escape to the West and the family’s impending departure, but she doesn’t yet fully understand what is going on around her. But during the journey she realises that her dreams aren’t coming true and that she has left her home forever.
