ONIRONAUTA

ONIRONAUTA is a painfully beautiful approach to the Republic of Cuba. The face of the afrocuban poet Omar reflects on humanity. As he wanders through Havana he reminisces about farewells, memory, patriotism and state censorship. His mythical poetry takes us through a dimension in which past, present, and dream interweave into an immersive journey. The poetry of the local, Omar, combined with the observational, 16 mm images of the cuban everyday life, create a deep feeling of the complexity of life on an isolated island, the feeling of mortality and the fear of a human to be invisible.
