With the doctoral regulations adopted in 2004, the Academy of Media Arts Cologne offers the opportunity to write a philosophical dissertation in a more intensive art-related context. The combination of artistic questions and scientific methods should lead to relevant new results in the KHM's doctoral program. In accordance with the legislation for art colleges in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the degree awarded is a Dr. phil. in the field of art and media studies.
