Eine Schale in Form eines Augapfels füllt sich mit schwarzer Tinte. Ein aufgehängtes Schreibwerkzeug lädt dazu ein, die „Pupille“ anzuzapfen und zu schreiben. Indem das Eintauchen in die Flüssigkeit potentiell bleibt, wird das Schreiben eines Wortes zur Emphase einer Schmerzerfahrung.
