Workshop with Sunanda Mesquita and Shenja Vasanthi Kumari Danz: The workshop is aimed exclusively at Black people, People of Color and people who identify as indigenous/indígena and who are Cologne based artists, cultural workers and who (want to) study art/cultural studies.
During our three BIPoC Dinner Talks “Political self-organization as Strategy of Resistance” we would like to spend relaxed evenings with you. We will talk about our and your experiences, plans and utopian visions around community and coalitions between BIPoC and combine them with some freewriting/dreaming exercises. To do this, we will draw on our personal experiences in different collectives such as Anti*colonial Fantasies, WE DEY x SPACE, CutieBIPoC Fest, Big Sibling Collective, Adoptees Healing Space, among others.
Together we exchange ideas about how we want to hold space for each other and how projects and ideas can be implemented that bring us together and strengthen us in our (university) everyday life. Towards the end of the evenings there will be time set aside to get to know each other.
The goal of the events - especially in times of isolation- is to create a space for BIPoC networking, future coming together and political self-organization.
A week before you get a reminder-email with the zoom link!
The planned workshop language is German. Please let us know upon registration if you prefer the workshop to be held in English. Please only sign up if you are available on this date(s) as we have limited capacity for the sessions. If you are registered but can’t make it on short notice: please let us know so that we can offer this space to someone else! Contact: bipoc@khm.de
