This documentary recounts the family histories of Jana Birner and Franziska Kriebisch, who both grew up in East Germany. In 1985, when they were both ten years old, the two families tried to escape the country. They were caught and their parents sent to prison. Life changed irrevocably and both families fell apart. For the very first time, daughters and parents recall the events that changed things completely for all of them.
