The installation „Dislocated Headquarters“ and the publication project „The Glass Line“ by Nicolas Pelzer are both connected with his visit to South Korea in the summer of 2010. The aim of this trip was the visit of all tourist observatories along the Demilitarized Zone on the South Korean side, from where the visitors are able to observe the border zone and the surrounding North Korean landscape through different media. The publication entitled „The Glass Line“ presents a selection of photographs that were taken during the visits to the observation platforms. This site being exclusively conceived for viewing the other side, the images mainly deal with the architecture and the modalities of representing the other, while the installation „Dislocated Headquarters“ is more an attempt to investigate the materials related to those structures of representation, linking Pelzer's own sculptural practice to the observation platforms.
