The Museum of Undead Labour

A collaboration with Karin Harrasser. The collection of ""The Museum of Undead Labour"" mapped the prehistory of the so-called immaterial labour. In the course of the lecture performance, the two curators presented the collection. The permanent collection of the museum consisted of various cultural and technological objects, art works, plans and ideas from different epochs and places. The figure of the zombie, an anachronism of contemporary working conditions, served as a guide to the ambiguities of ‚immaterial‘ labour. Instead of tangible objects, this sort of labour produces and modulates subjectivities, while at the same time relying on an uneven global division of labour. It can in fact hardly be called immaterial. Currently, the museum is defunct.
