Die Erfahrung

Luise sits in front of the fire in her room. Soon she’ll be taken to an old people’s home. She burns important artefacts from her past, reviewing the course of her life while she does it: Her as the daughter of an alcoholic mother, who escaped the underclass of the post-war period by marrying a middle-class man. Her son Clemens growing up. The separation from her husband and her job in a clothing shop. Only at the end of her life can Luise fully take in the loss of her mother, who took her own life with alcohol and pills. All that is left is an empty apartment.
