The focus of the workshops lies on improvisation, on finding movement through listening to music and observing how our bodies respond to it. In the moment of dancing, our bodies tend to move in the way they know, through patterns expressed differently by each body. The process of improvisation can expand this further. Discovering movement through improvisation could be an adventure, an experiment with oneself. Oriental (belly) dance has a rich tradition of improvisation and also the music for this dance is often improvised. Techniques and music of oriental dance will be combined with some aspects of modern dance in order to explore movements and expressions of participants
