The „Framedrucker“ (frame printer) is a machine that allows the deconstruction of video through purchase of individual frames: while a video (specifically produced for this purpose) is projected upon a wall in a loop, the viewer can buy individual frames of the video. After dropping a coin the video can be stopped by pushing a button. The image on the screen will be printed and is erased of the video afterwards. The video dissolves, it gets shorter and shorter (the remaining frames are „shoved together“) – completely falls apart – until it doesn’t exist anymore in its original medium.
