The filmmaker takes us on a poetic and political journey through Chile, following the footsteps of the poet Pablo Neruda, who was a communist and comrade-in-arms of Salvador Allende throughout his life. On a travel route through the vast Chilean nature, through rural and urban communities, Undine Siepker collects voices about Neruda's legacy against the background of an eventful history: Allende's socialist-democratic social experiment, the bloody years of the military dictatorship and the reintroduction of democracy in 1989, the disappointed hopes about an irreconcilable class society and the current renewed uprising of social movements in the country. Neruda's words are intertwined with the mood among the young generation, the pupils and students, who, after many years of silence, are raising their voices to fight for a fairer society and to rouse the rest of the population.
