La Tribu is a self-organised and free community radio in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which has been in existence for almost 34 years. Through the radio, voices become audible that are not heard in private and state media. The filmmaker experiences the everyday life of the radio and current political fights, in the studio and on the street, taking an observing position but also being in close contact with the radio collective. Like the film, La Tribu constantly moves between the inside and outside - between the studio and street protests - between historic and present lines. The protagonists share their personal stories related to La Tribu. Ernesto Lamas, one of the founders in 1988, tells of the beginnings of the radio, five years after the end of the last military dictatorship in Argentina. In the film, we witness a mixture of a fast rhythm of direct reporting in everyday radio life and the simultaneous togetherness of the collective.
