Maia & Piqui

Maia, 16 years old, and Piqui, her single-parent father, take us on a journey through the peripherics of Buenos Aires. A dialogue develops between the two and scenes from everyday life in Buenos Aires. Maia is directly confronted with a femicide for in her circle of friends, while Piqui has been involved in activist struggles and forms of self-organisation in the neighbourhood for decades. Play, humour and music are the moments of connection between daughter and father in their struggles for justice. The film tells a story between Shakira and political subjectivation.
