""The sound of dreams: As if the whole building were full of ladybirds just waking up.” Peter Handke. In the net, this dynamic remodelling space of symbols without real reference, countless symbols flow to their own IP addresses. The port, over which the symbols are transferred inside and outside, is open. I imagine I am standing next to it, observing this high-speed imaginary landscape. Every symbol is a fragment of text, sound, image, email, bot, software, etc. and at the same time, an expression of the desires of the people who are at opposite ends of the net. I send the symbols to my console, creating and simultaneously deconstructing a dynamic, high-speed ASCII poetry. I programmed the work with C (ncurses lib) and the Perl program “void,” which creates a visualisation and sonification of the transmitted code.
