CANARY A film and book made by Elke Mark. ""It took years until I could learn to live with the murdering of my parents and the disintegration of our home. Years, until I was able to create myself a new home."" Blanka Pudler spent her fifteenth birthday in Auschwitz-Birkenau. She survived eight months of compulsory labor in the explosives factory Hirschhagen in Hessisch-Lichtenau. To this day she lives in Budapest. In this film Blanka talks about her cruel, horrible and terrible memories. For twenty years she has discussed her experiences in schools. Elke Mark accompanied Blanka over a period of three years at her home and when traveling and taped accounts.
