„714 Binaries“ combines a sound work with a projection of binary digits. You listen to a text full of metaphors appearing surreal and poetical. This text comes from the memory athlete Cornelia Beddies who is in tenth place on worldwide ranking. Her favourite discipline is to memorise binary numbers - thousands of numbers. In order to succeed this the athlete uses special memory techniques like the route method. In this juncture the memory athlete chooses a personal route, for example from her home to a friends home. On this way particular pictorial situations like a tree are maked by a metaphor at all. So, a red bra hanging in a tree represents the information she wants to memorise, a certain sequence of binary digits. The text of the sound work is a tool of the memory athlete, a translation of binary numbers in images. While you are listening to the radio play the projection shows the current sequence of binary numbers, which belong to the particular metaphor.
