Lys is a start-up. It presents its vision through a website, image film and white paper: »In a sustainable society, all human beings are networked via synthetic neurons, so that their thoughts are of common origin. This allows for far more complex thinking processes, decentralizes decision-making processes, and the individual acts less selfishly, but for the collective benefit and in planetary sustainability.« The work consists of three parts: - an image film - a text-based presentation in the form of slides - a white paper. The image film adapts the design methods of conventional image and advertising clips. The customer is addressed personally and is at the centre of attention. The pictures show singular people and present the personal advantages of networking. The slides of the website consist of short texts on the vision of neuronal networking. These are less affirmative, but provide a factual, simple representation of the vision. In the white paper, which scientifically underpins the vision, egoism and capitalism are presented together as not sustainable and as a threat to the planet. Our self-image is identified as a social construction. To solve the problem outlined above, we need to dissolve our self-image and develop a collective mental model of a planetary identity.
