""I absolutely had to slip into the red dress, which makes me feel like I'm living in a different decade. Especially with the bun on top of my head, I embody the classic image of a woman. A woman as you know her from other pictures. A woman who photographs herself, like many other female photographers. Yesterday I was firmly convinced that I didn't like this woman in the mirror, but today I feel much closer to her. Maybe I can make peace with her at some point."" Luise Flügge presents her self-portraits in the work cycle ""Dear Camera..."". While her work Innenleben (2020), which was also created from self-portraits, can be described as personal and biographical, ""Dear Camera..."" stands in contrast to it for the further development of her gaze and the reflection of her social role as a woman. At the same time, she also reaches her limits here, because as an artist who grew up with the eurocentric gaze and the ""male gaze"", how can she think outside of these constructions? The work does not yet provide any answers, but it does provide images that question her own self-perception and her own view.
